Rev. Randy Burdeaux

Bro. Randy became pastor on May 17, 2009.  Born in Bogalusa, he is a Louisiana native. Bro. Randy was ordained in 1999 and comes from a well rounded ministry background that includes Music, Youth, Education, and Pastoral Ministry.  In 1994, Bro. Randy began working as the part time music minister at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Bogalusa. In 1999, he went on staff full time serving as the Music, Youth, and Education Minister. In October 2000, Bro. Randy became the Minister of Music and Education at First Baptist Church, Folsom, Louisiana and served in that capacity until 2003.  At that time, he became the pastor of First Baptist Church, Folsom.

Bro. Rev. Rick McPhearson

Administration and Adult Education

Bro. Rick first came to Mt. Vernon as the Minister of Education in September 1991.  In July of 2007, Rick's position was changed to Minister of Administration and Missions.  As the Minister of Administration and Adult Ed., he uses his gifts and talents to keep the business of the church running smoothly and efficiently. His heart for missions helps guide Mt. Vernon to continually be a mission minded church and his focus on adult education helps to reinforce the importance of being well trained in the study of God's Word.

Saved at the age of 8, Rick shares that he always felt a strong call to ministry. "I believe every gift God has given me is best used in a ministry setting. I love every aspect of ministry and cannot imagine doing anything else."

Prior to Mt. Vernon, Bro. Rick attended seminary at Southwestern Theological Seminary in Texas and served on staff in Sullivan, Missouri and Pasadena, Texas. Rick and his wife Cindy have three daughters, Rachel, Abigail, and Molly.  A former music minister, Rick enjoys playing the piano and listening to music. His favorite group is Third Day, and his favorite song is I Love Thee I Love Thee.  Rick's favorite verse comes from Matthew 6:33 which says, But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  (NIV)

Chris Trombatore

Student Pastor

Mt. Vernon is excited to welcome Chris and his wife, Dani, to our staff and church as Director of Student Ministries.  Chris joined our staff at the end of Summer 2010.  He hit the ground running when he brought our students to Youth Impact the first week on the job and as he celebrated his 23rd birthday.  That must have been a very exciting week for Chris and Dani!

Chris is originally from Guatemala and yes, he is fluent in Spanish.  He and his family moved to Louisiana when Chris was only 8 years old.  As he grew up in Oberlin, Chris did not know the Lord, but thankfully, he walked in a small baptist church only 2 doors down from his house when he was 14.  Chris was saved the first time he attended a service at Oberlin Baptist Church and dedicated his life to Jesus.  When he was 16, he felt the call and surrendered to the ministry.  Through his local church, he served in many different capacities in ministry until he went off to college. Before coming to Mt. Vernon, Chris spent about 2 years as a youth minister in Lake Charles, LA while he attended McNeese State University.  He has a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies and Behavioral Sciences from McNeese.  His desire has always been to follow God's call and to be obedient.  Chris is now furthering his education by pursuing a Master of Arts Degree in Pastoral Ministry from The Caskey School of Divinity at Louisiana College.  He is excited about what God is doing in his life, in the life of the church, and in the lives of the students here at Mt. Vernon.  God continues to move in the lives of students here at Mt. Vernon and we wait for God to do great and mighty things through His young church.
