Sunday, May 31

It’s Finally Here!

We are sorry for the slight delay in bringing you the details, but here is the information for our Re-Gathering service this Sunday, May 31, 2020:

Mt. Vernon Baptist Church -Regathering

This Sunday, May 31st, our church will open its doors for the first time since Sunday, March 15th. We know there will be many concerns about how this will look, so here are a few modifications and continuations to expect:

We will have two services beginning Sunday, May 31, 2020. The first service will start at 9:00 AM and the second service will start at 10:30 AM (doors will open at 10:20 AM). The worship services will be the same and last approximately 50 minutes to allow for distancing and cleaning/sanitation.

Everyone will enter the Worship Center thru the main entrance only for both services and we will use every exit after each service to aid with distancing upon departure.

We are asking that our first service be just for ages 60 and up to help accommodate all of our membership and abide by the state requirements for 25% of total capacity with six foot distancing.
*Our facility seats 747 people and the regulation in place is that we can gather at 25% capacity which allows for approximately 186 people.
*Ushers will help keep distancing upon entering and seating. We ask that families please sit together.

Our online service will continue thru our Facebook page. Some Sunday School classes have met in homes, church parking lot, by internet posts and are encouraged to continue.
*We are currently working to help other Bible studies and small groups find ways to gather until we can resume all on campus.
*We are prayerfully considering starting Wednesday Night services hopefully soon and will keep you posted.

Face covering will be required upon entering and leaving the Worship Center for the protection of those around you.

Our Worship team & pastor will not wear face coverings while on stage, but will as they step down.

Hand sanitizer will be available.

There will be NO childcare provided for this first Sunday. We are considering options for the month of June, so please text Mrs. Lisa (318-805-7460) if having a place for your children (age’s infant to Kindergarten) during the 10:30 AM service would help in your decision to attend.

We will have baskets available for the offering at the doors as there will be NO passing of the plates.

Our facilities will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each gathering. The exterior doors will be propped open to save you from having to touch them to enter.

Announcements and updated information will still be emailed out on Wednesdays each week.

Visitor cards are available in the pews or we encourage you to use your smart phone to text @mvbcwm to 81010 to receive further information about MVBC or answers to any questions you may have.

Thank you for joining us, your prayers and your patience as we walk thru this time together.
